One of the most consistent themes at Vatican II was sensitivity to ecumenical dialogue. The restoration of Church unity, in Pope John XXIII’s plan, was a primary goal of the council. The Pope also strongly desired that the council make a statement on the Jews, deeply aware of history and of anti-Semitism. So, in our December session we will take a look at the two documents of the council (The Decree on Ecumenism and The Declaration on the Relationship of the Church to Non-Christian Religions) which spell out the Catholic Church’s approach to these
two realities in its quest for Interfaith Friendship.
Join us on Friday, December 3 at 2 PM at Peconic Landing (pending its being open to the public) and on Zoom as Rabbi Gadi and Dr. Don continue their discussion of the foundations of interfaith friendships rooted in the Second Vatican Council.
