In our continuing inquiry into “Vatican II and Interfaith Friendships,” in February we will introduce Vatican II’s Decree on Ecumenism.

The twentieth-century ecumenical movement for the visible unity of the churches was called “ecumenical” because it seeks the unity of Christians throughout the world. It concerns the relationships among Christian churches. We will investigate the background of the document and why it is one of the more important statements to come out of the Council.
