Father Roy Tvrdik leads parishioners and friends of Our Lady of Ostrabrama RC church in lessons and discussions on the history of the Catholic Church. This week Father Roy has a brief discussion on Moses not entering the promised land because he disobeyed God’s instructions when bringing water from the rock. The first time God asks Moses to strike the rock (Exodus 17) but the second time God asked Moses to speak to the rock. Moses struck the rock the second time too (Numbers 20). Father also explains why the Catholic bible is bigger by 7 books. These 7 books make up the Septuagint (Greek Old Testament). We also begin the chapter on the Reformation in “The History of the Church, A Complete Course” and learn about Martin Luther.
