Father Roy Tvrdik leads parishioners and friends of Our Lady of Ostrabrama RC church in lessons and discussions on the history of the Catholic Church. This week Father Roy teaches on the Catholic Response to the Protestant Reformation in “The History of the Church, A Complete Course”. This week we discuss the Council of Trent which was convened to try and define the Catholic teaching and solidify the Tridentine Mass. We learn about the role Pope Paul III plays at this time in history. Father Roy touches again on a major difference between Catholics and Protestants… Faith AND Works. Father references the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 2010) to help us understand this teaching. Father also quotes scripture, Philippians:2:12, “Keep on working with fear and trembling to complete your salvation, because God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose.”
